All levels welcome! Feathers, fur, and scales- oh my! This Pastel drawing camp will teach your child the importance of close observation of a reference photo as well as the self-awareness of mark-making. Pastels are a colorful, expressive medium that allows for a variety of textural results that range from smooth blending to quick gestural ticks. Each day there will be value study warm-ups of the four basic forms in nature with a spot-lit still life of styrofoam shapes to warm up our little artist’s abilities to create the illusion of 3-dimensions on a 2-dimensional sheet of paper. Each student will choose a final animal for their portrait and they will work on it for the majority of the last 3 days of camp. Supplies included in tuition.
