Explore topics including studio materials and color mixing. Learn to create the illusion of 3-dimensional form in a loose, realistic style painting using alla prima technique. Classes include demonstrations and one on one instruction with each student. Learn to compose and work with color. Topics will also include simplification, color harmony, edges, variety, Designing a painting, Differentiate light and shadow and simply using a bigger brush to make a bolder brush marks. The instructor’s comments on her alla prima method: My painting technique, alla prima, means all at once or wet on wet. I start and finish the painting in one sitting. That means no layering or underpainting. I paint directly from observation and one brush stroke at a time. It is perfect for youth painters of all levels. Materials included in tuition fee.
