ABOUT THE CLASS: Unlock the power of watercolor efficiency and bring fresh, vibrant light into your artwork. In this hands-on course, award-winning artist Rajendra KC guides you through a strategic approach to watercolor painting. Rather than overworking your paper, you will learn how to plan strokes, control value structures, and work with a limited palette to achieve maximum clarity and depth. You will learn how to map out your values and brushstrokes beforehand to preserve paper luminosity, discover how a restricted color palette creates natural color harmony and rich atmospheric effects, master the art of economical painting-making every single line and wash could without over-refining, and benefit from Rajendra’s popular, hands-on teaching style with step-by-step feedback throughout the process. Open to all levels looking to refine their technique and build confidence on paper. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Rajendra KC is an award-winning artist celebrated for his intricate, atmospheric watercolor paintings. Educated at the Sirjana Contemporary Art Gallery in Kathmandu, Nepal, Rajendra relocated to the United States in 2002, where he quickly became an active and acclaimed figure on the plein air circuit. A prominent member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, the Montgomery Art Association, and Falls Church Arts, Rajendra has earned numerous accolades, including multiple top awards at the Floyd, Suffolk, and Falls Church Plein Air Festivals. His work is held in private collections worldwide across North America, Europe, and Asia. Known for his warm and accessible hands-on teaching approach, Rajendra enjoys helping artists of all skill levels simplify their process and master watercolor. CLASS DATES: Fridays | 10:00am - 12:00pm | 11/13, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11, No class on 11/27. *Class cancellation due to teacher illness or inclement weather will be rescheduled for Dec 18th.
