Basics of Oils with Joyce Lee

Oil painting fundamentals for all levels with Joyce Lee! 6 Class sessions: 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3. No class 11/26 for Thanksgiving. Cancelled class due to instructor illness or inclement weather will be made up on 12/10. Whether you are new to oil painting or want a greater depth of knowledge in the basic principles of oil painting, this is the class for you! Over 6 weeks, the class will focus on oil-painting fundamentals, such as Light and Form, Value and Color Relationship, Design and Composition, and Edges. Students will have the opportunity to apply each element introduced in a fun way. Through instructor demonstrations, discussions, and handouts, the essential elements of constructing a painting will be introduced through different subjects in each class: Class 1-2: Simple Still Life Class 3-4: Simple Seascape Class 5-6: Simple Landscape Instructor will provide beautiful photos captured throughout the year that students can use as inspiration.
