Description
Master the fundamentals of classical realism drawing with illustrator Dmitri Modell. Perfect for beginners! In this class, we will learn the basics and beginnings of drawing with vine charcoal and graphite, focusing on creating accurate representations of still objects and images in high-contrast lighting. We will warm up the creative part of our brains, and each day create a piece of charcoal or graphite artwork that represents the scene in front of us. As we progress through the class, each student will gradually become more comfortable recognizing and representing accurate values, perspective, and line using still lifes, hand models, and black-and-white photography as references. At the end of the class series, each student will have a solid grasp of solving creative problems in the world of charcoal & graphite media. Together, we will produce classical realism artwork and learn good habits and techniques that make it easier to recognize and more accurately represent 3-D life on 2-D paper.
