Description
Prerequisites: Students should demonstrate paint handling proficiency, command of drawing skills including perspective, and/or have completed Level I and II Drawing in our Youth Studies program. Art supplies provided and included in tuition. Paint a copy of your favorite masterpiece from history! Copying master artists is a time-honored tradition that continues today at the National Gallery of Art and teaches invaluable skills about visual acuity, value relationships, color confidence, composition, and historical painting processes. Choose a painting you wish to copy (Michela provides guidance on obtaining high-quality prints) or select from her collection. You'll practice the solutions that great artists have mastered, working through traditional methods from grisaille to duotone to full color. INSTRUCTOR BIO: Michela Mansuino teaches youth and adult classes at The Arts of Great Falls, as well as teaching at Studio Incamminati's Human Realist Program in Philadelphia, where she studied.
