Come participate in the centuries old tradition of creating master copies with Keeley Rae in this short two day workshop. All levels welcome! Mastercopies have been a staple in art education for centuries. They require an understanding of a good drawing, application techniques, color matching, and layering to achieve a successful copy. In this two day workshop, choose from one of five famous oil portraits to copy from start to finish with easy steps led by Keeley Rae, Smithsonian National Gallery Copyist. INSTRUCTOR BIO: Keeley Rae is a portrait and figurative artist in the DC metro area and a copyist at the National Gallery of Art. Keeley is an instructor for classical realism drawing and painting at multiple top art schools in the DMV area. Keeley began her art career at 17 being commissioned to paint several murals around her home near Portland, Oregon. After graduating with her bachelor’s in fine arts from Bringham Young University, she worked as a studio and gallery assistant for Utah artist J. Kirk Richards. During a visit with family to DC, she receive an offer to teach art classes. A short visit become a permanent move to the nation’s capital. She has since been involved in the DC art scene, showcasing at local galleries, teaching classes, and painting in museums.
