Perfect for all levels—from beginners exploring the medium to established artists refining their craft. Coordinator Patrice Fleck brings expertise in both pastel and oil painting. Originally a realistic oil painter, she discovered pastel's freedom for looser, painterly landscapes while studying with AGF instructors Lori Goll and Jean Wolf. Her work explores drama, energy, and intrigue through dynamic focal points. ARTIST BIO: Patrice Fleck works in pastel and oil. Her artistic excursion began as a child with a visual fascination for the shape and power of horses. She attended the School of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba and holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies which she taught at different universities and locally as professor of Film Studies at Northern Virginia Community College for two decades. Originally a tightly realistic oil painter, she began exploring pastel with artists and AGF Instructors Lori Goll and Jean Wolf several years ago. The pastel medium allows her freedom to experiment with a looser, more painterly approach to landscape. Her current purpose as an artist is to reveal a focal point of drama and energy as well as secrecy and intrigue. CLASS DATES: Jan 29, Feb 5, 19, 26, Mar 5 (no class Feb 12).
