ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: Turn your favorite pet photo into a lasting acrylic portrait! In this fun, family-friendly workshop, visual artist Ana Schwar guides you step-by-step through the process of bringing your furry (or scaly or feathered!) friend’s personality to life on canvas. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced painter, this workshop offers a welcoming, hands-on environment for artists of all skill levels. You will learn how to easily transfer your pet reference photo directly onto canvas to set up a confident foundation, discover step-by-step methods for mixing realistic colors that accurately capture fur, feathers, and physical features, and master the finishing touches and expressive details that make your pet’s unique personality shine through. At the end of the workshop, you will walk away with a completed, personalized portrait of your beloved pet to cherish forever. *Family-friendly and suitable for ages 8 and up. All painting supplies are included with registration. Adults are encouraged, however, to bring their own favorite supplies. *One ticket buys 1 Adult + 1 Child, 2 Adults, or 2 Children or an Additional Child at $75 each. Choose upon checkout. Known for her expressive, intuitive approach, Ana seamlessly blends design principles with fine art techniques to create unique, captivating works. Originally from Venezuela, Ana earned her B.A. in Graphic Design from the Instituto de Diseño de Caracas before relocating to Northern Virginia in 1989. Over her multifaceted creative career spanning illustration, graphic design, textile design, and art direction, she has collaborated with major national and international clients—including the World Bank Group, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Whole Foods Market, Lidl, Target, and Walmart. Today, Ana brings her extensive commercial and artistic background into the studio to inspire students of all ages. WORKSHOP DATE: Sunday | September 27th | 2:00 - 5:00 pm. All youth supplies included. Adults are encouraged to bring their own favorite supplies. SUPPLY LIST: Reference photo: Please email the photograph of your pet to chabelamaal@gmail.com two weeks before the workshop so I can size it and print it to have it ready to transfer to the canvas.
