Artist Bio: Sandra Waszyk is a paper-cutting artist known for transforming single sheets of paper into intricate, hand-cut designs using only a craft knife. Her journey into this delicate art form began while working as an architect in Switzerland, where she discovered and fell in love with the traditional Swiss craft of Scherenschnitt. Drawn to its elegant interplay of light and shadow, solid and void, she was captivated by the way the medium combines precision with poetry. Sandra’s work reflects quiet, meditative intention and timeless craftsmanship. Her background in architecture informs her attention to detail and spatial harmony, while her experiences living all across the United States, Europe, and Brazil bring an eclectic spirit to her art. Some of her art is playful and quirky, often infused with a subtle sense of humor that invites reflection. She is passionate about sharing her craft through workshops, where she teaches not only the techniques of paper cutting, but also the cultural richness of her Swiss heritage.
