All levels welcome! Kim T. Richards will share with you some essential techniques and principles to depict gardens. Let the beauty of nature be your muse this spring as you immerse yourself in the serene world of painting gardens. Instructor Kim T. Richards will share with you some essential techniques and principles to depict gardens with confidence and skill. The first week of this class we will meet at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens (9750 Meadowlark Gardens Ct., Vienna) During this outdoor session, we will sketch and take photographs for work in the studio during the remaining weeks of class. (in the event of inclement weather, we will visit Meadowlark on April 10) There will be a small additional charge for the Meadowlark visit which will be determined based on the number of enrollees. In this class, you will learn: -How to avoid getting lost in the details -Mixing harmonious color and a variety of greens -Simplifying and editing to improve your compositions -Creating studio painting using outdoor sketches and photographs as reference This class is appropriate for oil or acrylic painters who are new to painting, and those with some experience. Students will receive personalized feedback and guidance to refine their skills and express their unique artistic voice.
